There are several media reports about a Iraqi Kurdish young man named Ali Pour who survived the Halabja poison gas massacre by Saddam Hussein being reunited with his relatives in Iraq after being adopted by an Iranian family. Good for him and good for Iran for supporting and help raising him.
But note how all of these reports completely leave out the fact that when Saddam was gassing the Kurds in places like Halabja, the US was backing Saddam, Rumsfeld was shaking Saddam's hand, and the US was trying to shift the blame for the massacre onto Iran. Iran tried on several occasions to get a condemnation of Iraq's chemical weapons use at the UN - and each time the US blocked Iran. In 1982, the US even removed Iraq from the US State Department's list of terrorist nations so as to ease the transfer of "dual use" technology to Saddam's regime.
