Maziar Bahari repotedly thanked the Canadian govt for supporting him whilst he was imprisoned in Iran. good for him. Too bad the same Camadians didn't come to the help of another innocent Canadian named Maher Arar who was detained by the US, sent overseas to be tortured.
Canadas double standard on torture is laughable when you read this:

Guess it all depends on who is doing the detaining and torturing.
Cyrus,
So you are back, and I see that your artistic, get straight to the point flairs has not been affected. Last week, the BBC showed a one hour program on the Iranian event leading onto “the killing” of Neda Aghasoltan. Isn’t it amazing how the so called independent western media pick and choose their topics. When that poor Egyptian woman with her husband were brutally murdered in the German court room, the western media acted totally deaf and dumb. You mention the act of the Canadian government, well I guess the moral of the story is the same. American, Canadian or European, we all know where this story begins.
