So Muntadar al-Zaidi, the Iraqi fellow who threw his shoes at Bush, got a three-year prison sentence according to this article. I doubt he'll actually serve any of the time in reality. However, what's really funny is the giant bronze shoe statue that was unveiled in Tikrit in his honor. It is really surreal, isn't it? The American forces come, screw up royally, and leave -- leaving behind a giant bronze shoe as a testiment to a totally failed, corrupted policy and presidency. (yes I know the govt eventually took down the statue but its legacy will always be there as long as people on the internet can watch the President of the United States ducking for cover.)
