Dennis Ross, the pro-Israeli agent, was appointed as an 'advisor' to Hillary Clinton -- not a Presidential Envoy representing Obama on par will Holbrook or George Mitchell, mind you -- just an advisor to Clinton.
Now, what that means in effect, I don't know. I guess Obama had made some promises to the pro-Israeli crowd, which isn't hard to believe considering how he shamelessly stooped before AIPAC (as do most US presidential candidates fishing for the "Jewish Vote") but Cernig is more pessimistic about it than I am at this particular point.
Dennis Ross is a co-founder of AIPAC. This very fact makes him unfit to be a fair broker with respect to Iran.
The reason he got this gig is that he delivered Jewish votes.
