So did you hear how Iranian-made genetically-cloned Nazi/shark mutant storm-troopers are going to point their ray gun towards the US from their secret base on the Moon, and will then EMP everyone to death?
This is so comedic because it is a repeat of history. This latest scaremonging comes from the same folks who brought you the "Missile Gap" scare during the Cold War which consisted of a deliberate over-estimation of the Soviety military capability in order to justify an ever-expanding military budget and fat, juicy defense contracts. And since the end of the Cold War, the US military budget has continued to rise dramatically, so that the US now spends more on its military than ALL of the other countries in the world combined.
Do you suppose this Graham fellow or the military-industrial complex has a financial stake in promoting the Iranian EMP "threat"? After all If you need a good scare narrative so sell a product, what better way than to promote a scenario in which your product comes to the rescue as it defeats the evil machinations of those sneaky Iranians/Russians/Iraqis/(fill in blank).
What a racket!
Anyway this "EMP from Iran" reminds of a cover story by...Newsweek?... which hypothesized about how Iran could launch a cyberwar against the US. THis was in the late 1990s -- when Iran was just barely even connected to the internet. I had a giggle at that one back then. I wonder how many defense contractor got rich off of that.
