I remember reading somewhere that the Bush I administration provided no less than 28 varying reasons for the first Gulf War .
Well, today Rumsfeld has said that the US occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan is crucial to "containing" Iran. I am not sure what this means - until now the Bush administration has said that it planned on evacuating its forces from both countries as soon as the host nations were stablized. They claimed that they weren't planning for a long-term military presence there. They even said that the invasion of Iraq was because of WMDs which didn't exist. Now, it turns out that the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan was part of a plan to contain Iran?
How many times can these guys change their story?
